In re: Protests
Frankly, I am happy about the farmer’s agitation from a UP election point of view. I do not support them otherwise though I have no idea what the bills do. My view is that if bills have been passed the remedy is to challenge them in courts.
Else
vote & bring a government which will repeal them. Everyone can protest.
That is an absolute right. On the CAA/NRC, the laws appear unconstitutional.
Muslims, like farmers, have an absolute right to protest & some of the
arrests have certainly been wrongful.
However
I take the same approach. Speaking ONLY for myself, I trust institutions &
accept what they ultimately decide, even though I may not agree with them. I
even accepted what happened in the USA – Trump v. Biden, though I did not agree
with it.
That
said, I also do not ask anyone to trust institutions & I can understand why
many of them do not.
