In re: Eating at people's homes
Ideally one should eat at one’s own residence OR at busy restaurants/outlets.
One should eat at other people’s homes only if the food has been ordered from a busy restaurant/outlet or cooked by a reputed caterer. However sometimes it is just not possible to refuse to eat.
In such a situation follow these inclusive but not exhaustive guidelines:
- Avoid seafood/poultry/meat. If not possible eat only if heated in a microwave.
- Prefer deep fried food. Deep fried food is bad for health & the oil could be refried but it is a lesser evil.
- Prefer rice over breads because there is limited skin contact in making & serving it.
- If you have to eat breads prefer puris & unstuffed parathas over chapattis. Absolutely avoid stuffed parathas.
- Prefer ketchup over chutney
- Absolutely avoid salads & curds.
- Never use salt & pepper because containers are always suspect.
- You can add sugar to piping hot tea/coffee.
- Do not consume water, juices & aerated beverages unless FRESH cans/bottles are opened.
If you follow this from now on, thank me. If not, enjoy your medication.
