In re: Lack of Hindu unity
Though I am NOT a man of faith, I am very conscious & proud of my Hindu identity. Something that often worries me is this: An average Punjabi or Haryanvi Hindu has limited, if any, concern for the rights of Tamil Hindus in Sri Lanka.
Equally an average Tamil Hindu has limited, if any, concern for the rights of Kashmiri Pandits. Fraternal ties, if any, exist only among the supposedly enlightened section of the middle class & above. Compare this with the way Muslims rally around for their coreligionists across the world. We Hindus remain stuck in linguistic & regional groups unconnected to our coreligionists elsewhere. We unify only for voting behavior - in a certain negative way where many of us vote with a view to disempowering certain communities.
IF & when we achieve positive Hindu
unity, there will be no need for such hate & negativity. It is only then
that there will be a chance for actual propagation of our religion worldwide -
beyond just Hare Krishna like groups.
