In re: Watches

In the age of mobile phones which efficiently tell time, wearing a watch NOT being a smart watch makes sense ONLY if it's being done for the same reasons that jewellery is worn:
1. Religious reasons (watches can have religious significance) AND/OR
2. Style.

In view of the same, I see many watch companies closing down with only two kinds of watch makers continuing to be in business:
1. Those with tie-ups with religious institutions AND/OR
2. Those oriented ENTIRELY towards style.

Obviously, I am not referring to clocks. Clocks will continue to have basic time telling utility because of strategic placement & ergonomics.

I do not wear watches - but I do own & shall continue to buy clocks.
