In re: The ‘Biradar Mulk’ Dimension

Bharatiya peopleS who are celebrating the start of the war between Pakistan and Afghanistan should remember that these countries are Biradar Mulks.

While the 'Biradar Mulk’ concept is overrated when it comes to interse relationships between Muslim countries, it applies very efficiently when it comes to conflicts between Muslim countries and non Muslim ones - such as Hindu majority India. 

So while one can look for tactical benefits from a geopolitical standpoint, there are limits to what this can do for India's situation. 

Of course our news channels will make insane amounts of money selling this supposed alliance between India & Taliban led Afghanistan, which Taliban they used to slam till recently.  

In re: Donald J. Trump & the war between Pakistan and Afghanistan

Anyone who thinks that Pakistan has declared war on Afghanistan without approval from the BOSS, President Trump is a freak.

President Trump wants the Afghanistan's Bagram Air Base among other things.

He has approved whatever Pakistan is doing and is using them as his mercenary force in the region. That makes him smart. It also shows Pakistan's pragmatism given their self imposed stupidity on Kashmir et al.

PS: President Trump is our BOSS too though we are at a higher level than the Pakistanis.
You can compare Pakistan to a Senior Vice President & India to member of the Board of Directors.

The Afghanistan PakistanWar involves external dimensions (Afghanistan/India ) & an internal one (Imran Khan).

I DID think that age was catching up with Khawaja Asif BUT maybe he's got everything in place. 

In re: The Prime Minister’s visit to Israel

I oppose many undesirable &/or unfeasible domestic policies of the BJP with respect to minorities, particularly Muslims.

HOWEVER the conflict between Israel & Palestine concerns Abrahamic people. Hindu majority India NEED NOT get into it beyond generally supporting peace. We need Israeli technology & weaponry and the Jewish financial system.

Along with that we need the jobs that the Islamic world provides for our citizens & indeed the investments that Islamic countries make here.

The government of the day appears to be WELL AWARE OF THIS and has balanced India’s relationship with the Islamic world & Israel more efficiently than any previous one. Credit where due.

I respect the sentiments of Muslims who oppose this Israel visit & I acknowledge that political parties have to cater to THEIR core voters on this issue.

HOWEVER the government has a right to decide external affairs policy. This visit aligns with MY India First views. 

In re: My response to a social media post about the Bukhara restaurant at the ITC Maurya in Delhi

I never liked ITC's Bukhara & Peshawaris which serve bland food catering to foreigners & sections of Indians.

I am not a freak who suggests that dhabas serve better food. Expensive food tends to be better BUT many expensive restaurants are better than these sister restaurants.

PS: If you have eaten authentic Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cuisine at restaurants abroad, you will find that most of those claiming to serve it in India are conning you.

In re: The Supreme Court’s decision in ‘Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump (Tariffs)’

The freaks who are celebrating the SCOTUS decision on many of President Trump’s tariffs have little or no understanding of the American Constitution, laws, politics and matters connected therewith.

They fail to realize that the United States Congress is a body which has passed tens of thousands of laws over hundreds of years. President Trump can use multiple legislations to once again impose tariffs & he has already started doing that - his team obviously had back up plans. This is apart from and in addition to general Presidential authority which the SCOTUS has itself expanded in recent years.

Whatever he does, if challenged will have to go through the hierarchy of courts. By the time, the entire issue is settled comprehensively, if at all, President Trump will have left office after having achieved substantial portions of what he sought to using tariffs.

Obviously Bharatiya news channels will make more money thanks to the essential BEWAKOOFNESS of most Bharatiya peopleS.

It goes without saying that MAARNING WAAKERS must have already told each other that "Trump की ऐसी की तैसी हो गयी। हमारी INDYAN LABBY बहुत STRAANG है। कुछ न कुछ हमारे लोगों ने ही करा होगा।"

In re: One of the reasons that we need public sector involvement in education in India

I do not know much about Galgotia’s University.

However generally speaking I am not comfortable with private UNIVERSITIES.

Private colleges are fine but when there are no government universities conducting examinations, what stops private universities from inflating marks for commercial reasons?

Remember: government universities, there is a lot of retail corruption but there's no reason for them to liberally grant marks to every fool & his uncle.

In re: Assam politics

Bhupen Borah's quitting the Congress & BJP's agreeing to take him in indicates that the Assam assembly elections are NOT a done deal for the BJP.

The Congress has a chance in spite of its broad nationwide weakness because the BJP has NO room for error post delimitation.

PS: Partisans on all sides are unable &/or unwilling to pick up things like this.

In re: Kapil Dev, the 1983 pension scheme propounder & Imran Khan 

I am glad that Kapil Dev has expressed concern about Imran Khan's health status. 
It was disappointing that he did not say anything on a simulcast between NDTV and Pakistan's ARY News when he had a chance to address Pakistani audiences directly. 
That said, one doesn't know what Imran Khan’s accurate health status is.
It depends on who one believes.

In re: Backchannel talks between India & Pakistan in the era of President Trump

IF you assume that there is no back channel between India & Pakistan apart from the skeletal High Commissions, DGMOs, Border Controls et al, you fail to understand what nations dependent on the United States of America need to do in this era of President Trump to try & align with his scheme of things.

In re: The Shivam Mishra case

ASSUMING that Mr. Shivam Mishra was driving, given that nobody died, he could have admitted to the crime & offered compensation. The matter could have been sorted out before the Magistrate IF not at the police station & in the worst case at the High Court.

The lawyers wouldn't like that, though.

PS: Without & before success, litigating lawyers should be paid ONLY expenses - amend the relevant laws for this.

In re: The United States Trade Representative's Office & the map of the erstwhile Princely State of Jammu & Kashmir

When a map used by the United States Trade Representative's Office showed the whole of the erstwhile Princely State of Jammu & Kashmir including the parts of it administered by Pakistan & China as a part of India, many Bharatiya peopleS were celebrating.

I pointed out then that we should not read too much into it and that there was NO change in US policy on Jammu & Kashmir over which there is general bipartisan consensus. I further pointed out that what had happened was most likely about staffers working on a lazily accessed map and wondered what will happen if Pakistan protested.

Well, it did and the United States Trade Representative's Office deleted that post.

Therefore one should always avoid premature and unnecessary celebrations.

In re: Discussions related to supposed Hindi imposition on India Today's Tamil Nadu Roundtable

Linguistic chauvinists fail to understand that Hindi is the SECOND & THIRD language for people ACROSS India. This has made it an important LINK language of COMMERCE to access the Indian common market. In this era of automation & AI, India will largely be a consumption based economy.

Rajdeep Sardesai has become India's best known journalist among other things because of his efforts to improve his Hindi over decades.

Two major reasons why Rajdeep Sardesai is better known than Prannoy Roy ever was are:
1. As mentioned above, his efforts over decades to improve his Hindi
2. Pragmatism, which is another issue

The Joke is on the East Pakistanis.

That apart, this is an example of how & indeed why WEST Pakistan endures - constant pragmatic deal making while continuing to run a dysfunctional country.

Imran Khan tried to break from that pragmatism & was shunted out - probably rightly.

In re: The ban on Pakistani YouTubers & News Channels

While common Pakistanis continue to get INFORMATION about India via actual Indian content, Indians are deprived of a lot of Pakistani content. This will ultimately have national security implications.

As someone without a partition background who has never visited Pakistan, I can say that a lot of the information that I have about that country has come from Pakistani news channels & YouTubers.

For instance - watching Mubashir Saddique’s channel tells one a lot about the entire Sialkot belt & indeed other parts of Pakistan including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa thanks to their frequent tours - places & mindsets among other things.

The government should look into this issue.

In re: The Islamabad Suicide Attack

There NO PROOF that the Islamabad Suicide Attack was a false flag operation. That said Islamabad is a HIGHLY sanitized city.

Therefore rogue elements within the security apparatus COULD have a role.

Former High Commissioner, Mr. Sharat Sabharwal’s book gave me some insight into such things about Pakistan.

I read Former High Commissioner, Mr. Ajay Bisaria’s book after reading the aforementioned book and recommend reading both books in THAT order.

In re: A social media post claiming that Mr. Vajpayee 'reprimanded' Mr. Nehru for something.

I am no fan of  Jawaharlal Nehru. However who was Vajpayee to 'reprimand' him?

In any case the Ashoka Hotel remains profitable to this day in spite of mismanagement & corruption which has continued even after 2014 - when India supposedly got real independence.

Note: There are opportunity cost aspects BUT the whole of Lutyens Delhi including most of the Central Vista et al is an opportunity cost. Permanent jobs which governments STILL give out too are opportunity costs benefitting one family & taking away from many others.

In re: The US-India trade deal

Credit goes to the government for showing pragmatism in negotiating the US-India trade deal with the Trump administration.

Particular credit goes to Mr. Piyush Goyal and his team for CLINICALLY negotiating the deal while the BJP's own supporters were going crazy and watching deranged debates on third rate networks like Republic.

President Donald J. Trump is the world's most consequential leader today. Those in the upper echelons of India’s government recognized that & ignored their jingoistic supporters.

Not having a deal would have led to economic ruin. 'Strategic Autonomy' is an insult to the poorest Indians. India has to align with more prosperous nations with a view to improve the lives of average Indians.

PS: Bharatiya media continues to cater to its audience and claim that – Trump झुक 'गया'. The reality is that President Trump has prevailed.

In re: The culture of poorly paying but disproportionately respecting teachers & others in the field of education.

Regulating fees of private #schools strikes at the root of the concept of free markets.

While a MIXED ECONOMY is Necessary in a POOR country like India, government schools exist for lower & middle classes.

PS: EWS quotas are fine given institutional land compensation aspects.

Most 'Seculars' are blasting the Budget without analysing it.

Most 'VishwaGurus' on the other hand are calling this the best budget since REAL 'independence' which 'we' achieved in 2014 though most of them are out of the budget net.
